    I'm having difficulty choosing which vehicle I want to transport me, my partner and one child (no plans for any more). My wishes are: automatic, reliability, fuel efficient, nice interior and not too boring to drive. So far my short list includes: Mazda CX 5 (2020/2021 model), Peugeot 2008 (2024) and Skoda Kamiq (2024).  Would love to have your feedback and if you can think of anything else, I would love to hear!

  This happens both going up the gears and going down, mostly in the lower gears.   The car is a VW Golf SE TDi 105 bhp 1895cc diesel automatic year 2006   Changing the gearbox oil had had no effect on the problem.

  I can't comment on the efficiency of the new model but I'll bet my last tank of juice that it won't be smooth, especially from 1st to 2nd! * A bunch of kids no doubt without any respect for the driver who wants/needs an automatic.

But they never tell us about the respective popularity of automatics and manuals. Has anyone seen any statistics on this subject? (I'm curious, because many people have forecast that manuals would eventually just disappear, but I've seen no signs of it happening.)

  Please could anyone give an idea as to the problem with my 2000 Shogun Automatic. Recently serviced, always been Ok until.....last night filled up with petrol, drove about 2-3 miles then the check engine light came on...then every warning light and car just stopped..all electrics working and will turn over and work for a few minutes then cuts out.

  I have recently brought a BMW 530d(2002) automatic with 76000 miles on the clock-I have never driven a diesel or an automatic before. The car is fantastic to drive,however on pressure on the accelerator(not neceesary full pressure) it kind of propels forwards with a sudden thrust-as if it has been given a massive push from behind.Is this how it is meant to be and represents diesel/automatic drive or is there something I need to be worried about?

  I have a three month old C5 with automatic gearbox which is the third auto car I have driven. I find the changing down from 4 to 3 and 3 to 2 very jerky at times as if I was changing down, in manual, to a lower gear than intended.Citroen tell me the car is in standard condition but I find it hard to believe that such a less than smooth change down can be acceptable.
