  What would you have done, if anything?? He was a hazard to other drivers and to himself. Does anyone know what happens if a member of the public reports such an incident to the police? Would they take the report seriously or label the person reporting it as interfering / busybody / prankster / sad??

  Like many a young lady Mrs V. insists on having all that modern bingy bongy music going all the time so it's an ideal compromise - she gets to listen to what she wants, all the noise keeps me awake at the wheel and I get forewarned of impending doom.

  ., stopping in the yellow cross hatched areas and causing holdups. I'm all for that in principle. Many times drivers have given me the "So what are you going to do about it" look. We have in our village a warden named June. One day, when I was in the greengrocers, the handsome young male proprietor of the next door Italian restuarant stopped his swanky open top tourer on the yellow lines opposite and sauntered across with his jacket slung across his shoulders, 'Dolce Vita' style.

  She said it wasnt in the least patronising and was happy that a portion of the money raised went to the air ambulance and courses for young drivers. They were also told that no matter how aggressively the driver behind behaves, you should not go over the limit because of it. She also got a keyring, sticker for her back window in car and a copy of the Highway Code.

  A friend has just been telling me about an accident that happened to her about 4 years ago where a speeding driver hit her after cresting a rise and found her turning right across his path. Somehow he not only avoided blame for this, but managed to claim off her insurance for the accident. As she was young and inexperienced at the time, she didn't really know how to fight it, and as she was only TP insured, her insurer didn't want to know.

  I was eventualy directed slowly past the scene by the patrol car driver. A few things come to mind here, should the driver of the pickup have stopped, was he technically involved in the accident ?. Could the driver of the patrol car in some way have anticipated what could happen in the circumstances and somehow prevented the risk of an accident ?.

  My evidence if needed should convict her anyway. Is it possible instructors teach this or was the young driver just a bit stupid? Watching instructors in town when I am walking about does make me wonder if they should be doing the job (texting whilst teaching etc) but surely they must have passed some form of qualification.

  We've been with one big insurer for some time - one that started out as a lean, mean concern that undercut the old establishment but that was some time ago and now they are part of the establishment and no longer cheap. My son is 18 and because we he's added as a named driver, the cost of insurance has been highlighted.  Our existing insurer has upped the premium this year compared to last year, when he was 17.   We have a full no-claims bonus. I know that insuring young drivers is expensive, there's no way round that.

   Where there is no GPS signal the system can track road marking and read traffic signs.  Perhaps this is for the future driverless cars.  If not, I can imagine many young drivers coming to rely on their ‘automatic’ headlights and the resultant accidents. But, why does a driverless car need headlights at all ?   Can’t they have Daytime Running Lights so that they can be seen and rely on their radar.

  Do not take a risk; wait for the signal to be cancelled My insurance company stated the blame should be 70/30 (the majority of blame being with the other driver). There are no independent witnesses only passengers in each of the cars.  Police were inattendance but nobody waas breathalysed.  find this strange considering it was a Sunday morning and the driver of the other car was a young male.

  The Facts. In traffic, a car slowly drove past from the other direction - driver and passenger wearing white full face masks. (looked like a plain form of Halloween mask) Did a double take of course and inadvertently held `eye` contact in doing so. this was followed by a vigorous head shaking - by him, or her, not me..

  Before the car's stopped the policeman's out and running over to the car, reaches in and pulls out the keys and then tries to pull the driver out while screaming "You're under arrest" etc. Driver somewhat surprised by this, gives the policeman a shove back. Bearing in mind this is on the hard shoulder the policeman is a bit scared and gets even more abusive, dragging him out while putting him in an armlock.

  Two years ago, I had to carry out a rapid stop to avoid a van coming out from my left. I stopped OK, the car behind me stopped with good clearance, sadly the driver in the third car did not stop in time and ran into the back of the second car pushing it forward. My car was not damaged in any way. My wife and I helped calm the other drivers' nerves and cleared the road of debris.

  For the countless millionth time i have held back at a junction to allow someone to drive across in front of me, and not hold them up, only to be totally ignored by the young driver (isnt it invariably) who would have had to wait for at least a light change before doing so otherwise, no he wasnt in a German car either. I dont want anyone congratulating me on roadcraft or anything silly before the sarcastic crew get fingers to keyboard, its just that i will absolutely never fail to acknowledge a common courtesy.

  I warn you, it is extremely graphic, extremely distrubing and very, very sad. It shows the aftermath to one young female from being involved in an accident. You may prefer not to look, and if you are not a drink-driver I would suggest that you do not look - if you are a drink-driver then you\'re scum anyway.

  Incidentally, the reason for the error was the car number plate search shows up as a 2.4T SE rather than the 2.5T SE it actually is. I'm not sure if this is a general policy that young drivers will pay far more for a group 16 vehicle vs group 15, but it might be worth bearing in mind for other drivers in my position.

  Throwaway because I am pressing charges from the person who hit me with their SUV. My life has been ruined since getting run down by a reckless driver, while I was on a motorcycle. I am a young professional (dentist), and because of this accident, I am recovering with my parents. This accident happened a number of weeks ago, and I have life-changing injuries.

  4) Will owners of  existing petrol cars now bite the bullet and hang on to them for 23 years. 5) Will vehicle ownership drop away big time as drivers ( particularly amongst the impoverished young and the sensible seniors)  realise there's nowhere to go and no where to park without risking being without a power point. 6) Will public bus transport cease to exist or will it escalate?

  Hello, I have here in Oman where I work an ex Royal Oman Police BMW R80/7, at some point the engine was replaced with a 750 cc unit consequently the numbers do not match. it is running but I have not tested and insured it for the road here owing to the crazy drivers and accident stats. (I have 3 young kids to think about!) My contract ends shortly and wondering about the UK value and whether it's worth shipping it home to sell. I have seen similar bikes and asking on Ebay crazy money 4-5 K, but feel sure this was never achieved. thought about adding an age related sidecar, how would this do the value?
