VW - Towing in Brent 12 Jun 2012 (Forum)
I went back inside resigned to paying the fine. At lunchtime I went back outside to get the ticket in order to pay the fine, only to find that the car had been towed to a pound. Brent parking people are saying that they are entitled to tow a car if it is not moved within 30 minutes of receiving a ticket... -
How to enforce parking 27 Oct 2018 (Forum)
We've been told we can't fit a gate due to the complexities of comings and goings and the right of way, so some form of permit parking + enforcement seems to be the only way forward. A fully contracted parking service would be very expensive. This appears - on the face of it - to be a relatively cheap parking solution: https://www.flashpark.co.uk/HowItWorks.aspx We rent parking signs, send them photos of cars which we *know* are parked without permission, they send out parking fines, and they keep any revenue. -
"Parked" for 5 seconds! 13 May 2014 (Forum)
My husband was driving my car and I received notice of a parking fine yesterday. He was truly bewildered by accompanying photo, so we went to view the video. The camera car had followed him along the road and took a picture of him as he pulled to the side of the road (next to double yellows), to let the traffic come past, before he parked his car on the street. -

BMW 3 Series Touring - Parking sensors on the blink 8 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Hi, When I engage reverse my parking sensors start beeping indicating that I am close to hitting an object, this happens even when it is clear. this is an inconsistent problem as 1 in 3 times it works fine. My local BMW dealer has ran it through their diagnostics however everything indicates it is working normally. the next step they have suggested is to remove the bumper and take a look. -

Two tickets?...go to prison 28 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Heard on the BBC breakfast this morning if you display more than one parking ticket you can be fined...refuse to pay the fine and you could face prison! apparently some commercial drivers leave loads of the things on the dash and the poor traffic wardens have to seek the right one out. -
Car Friendly/Unfriendly towns 19 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Why is London at the bottom? The congestion charge has eased traffic in town a bit, so is great. It's expensive to park, but fine if you can afford it - and fine if you're driving through. There aren't many no-go areas although some one way systems are a bit irritating. Cambridge on the other hand you cannot even drive into. -
Nonpayment of fines-Prison or bailiffs? 23 May 2005 (Forum)
Please will one of our legal BR members, or anyone else who knows, please tell me what decides whether non-payers of fines, parking tickets, congestion charge, speeding fines etc are sent to prison or have the bailiffs set upon them? Viv a vis the 159 mph police driver (Thread elsewhere) the D Tgraph today gave a list of what had happened to other speeders. -
APCOA Parking Ticket 4 May 2012 (Forum)
A lot has been said on this forum about simply ignoring correspondance, however this was a 'proper' ticket issued to the car, not posted, and issued by a proper little man in a hi-viz (bless him) rather than a shady CCTV operation. I imagine Apcoa and their delightful 'World of Parking' (!!) to be rather good at collecting their fines? Any widsom much appreciated, Ta. -

Parking Ticket 12 Nov 2010 (Forum)
I recently received a parking ticket for an offence that I believe I did not commit. My vehicle was parked in a residents parking bay where non-residents are granted a 2 hour parking window with a further no return within 2 hour restriction (hope that makes sense). -
DVLA - Fine unlicensed car on road 13 Aug 2014 (Forum)
My son's car was declared SORN and parked off road by our rented garage which is situated about 20 minutes away from us. It had a note of a number and name displayed in windscreen if anyone needed to contact us. There were no problems until last month when out of the blue he got a letter saying it had been taken to the pound as it was found on the highway, followed by a fine from the DVLA (a payup or go to court letter). -

One For Our Legal Team! 26 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Browsing through my latest copy of the Caravan Club magazine - (yes I know its sad!) read a letter from a gentleman who parked his outfit at Cherwell Services on the M40 in order to use the facilities. He states that as he drove in he followed the signs to the caravan/coach park, Some of the further signs were obscured and he found the caravan park entrance obstructed by coaches.
