hi i have just got my micra and dont know how the rear parking sensors work? when i am reversing they arent making any noice-do i have to activate them? the car doesnt have the original radio-its been replaced but all works fine. will this have something to do with it?
have looked all through the manual and googled but to no avail, its the SVE model so i know they were factory fitted-just dont know how to get them to work!!
please help
thanks

The parking sensors should become active as soon as reverse gear is selected.Depending on the type fitted,an initial warning bleep should be heard then an increase in frequency as you get closer to objects. No noise at all would indicate a fault with the system.hth

yeah but where does the noise for them come from? is it through the radio? as just wondering if the fact it no longer has the factory fitted radio has anything to do with it? the pioneer radio it currently has works fine but its not connected to the steering wheel controls-im getting a multi stalk adaptor fitted at Halfords next week but wondered if this was reason why i couldnt hear a noise for the sensors?
know i could take it to a dealer but will prob be quite pricey so wanted to know first what could be causing the problem from anyone who might have had the same or knew more about them.

is there a fuse for them and has that been removed? no idea just a thought i guess...!
