  What to watch It might have had a good reputation for reliability but that’s not stopped the Vito having a few recalls. One relates to a bracket chaffing wires and causing a fire risk, another for an air con fan relay overheating and one in relation to airbags. Check they’ve been investigated - the seller should have paperwork to show the work has been completed by a local approved workshop.  Listen for any knocking from the suspension.

  last year i had my air con serviced by vw and it worked fine. in august we had the air con blowing then suddenly there was a electric burning smell and the air con stopped working and blew the fuse. i put a new fuse in and turned on the air con which blew it straight away.

  Hi All I have a 1998 Mondeo TD, When air con is switched on the car runs like a pig (i know air con saps some power but this seems a bit extreme). If i remove the air con belt and switch on there is still a drain on engine maybee ecu should tell the injector pump to run differently when air con is on, but in this case going wrong somewhere!

  Our Nissan Note is 13 years old and we've noticed this year that the air con is no longer working. The air con has never been re-gassed. I'm concerned that if we have it re-gassed that may not work as there could be a fault or leak in the air con system. This happened to us once with a Citroen which lost the gas overnight.

  the air con was working on my 99 diesel sharan. the problem started when there was a strong electrical burning smell. this blew the fuse and stopped the air con. i replaced the fuse but no air con.  is this problem the electro coupler???

  I have a 2003 peugeot 307 and the air con and blowers/fans have stopped working! Checked fuses and behind the air con switch for any loose connections. Any ideas before i take it to a garage? Should i get air con topped up which i doubt would be the problem as the fans don't work when air con is switched off.

  Dropped car off for a service at 08:30 - got a call at 09:00 to say 'the air con is not working' The ambient temp was about -3 when i left the car, and is still only around freezing. I've asked the 'receptionist' how they test it when air con does not normally do anything below +4, and the only response is 'technician says not working' Is somebody pulling a flanker ?
