  Mercedes 190SL Makes £47,000 in Barons Classic Car Auction 24 Sep 2012 (News)
  A splendid Bentley MKVI found an appreciative owner at £19,600, while a Morris Cowley ‘Bullnose’ Tourer, once rescued from a breaker’s yard, looked like an excellent buy at £11,492.  The ’lockup find’ 1961 Oselli Mini was bought by an internet bidder for £5,600 and the Rover 114 Cabriolet that had covered just 4,000 miles since 1997 looked amazing value at just £2,812. All three British motorcycles sold, with the 1961 Norton Dominator fetching £4,500, the 1961 BSA A7 £3,372 and the 1971 BSA A65 £2,300.

  It had been a very successful car for Rover despite sharing much of its shell and platform with the original 1980 Austin Mini-Metro, along with its fluid-sprung Hydragas suspension. But, fun as it was to drive, the Metro felt very old fashioned alongside new 1990s rivals such as the Fiat Punto, Vauxhall Corsa and Nissan Micra K11.

  Celebrity saloon racing at the Revival 6 Jun 2013 (News)
  It will feature two races for 1960-'65 saloons and will feature classics such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Mini Cooper S and Lotus Cortina. A whole host of famous faces are set to race door handle-to-door handle in these 1960s tin tops, including Touring Car legend Steve Soper, who will be returning to do battle at the Revival this year for the first time in 12 years.

  In contrast, during the MPG Marathon, a Mini John Cooper Works improved on its official fuel-economy capability by 23 per cent, when the person behind the wheel employed some green driving techniques. Jay Nagley from Clean Green Cars said: "Real world experience shows just how great deviations from the official figures can be.

  MINI Cooper Sells For £4,900 at Auction Today 28 Mar 2007 (News)
  It had to happen. And today it did. This clean enough 92k mile 2001/51 MINI Cooper with full MINI service history sold for £4,900 at auction today. So the promise of MINIs with a five in front of them will soon be met on forecourts, if it isn’t already. Yaris have such a good reputation that a 53k miles 2000X (7 year old) GS 3-door with PAS sold for a substantial £2,200.

  Petrolheads flock to NEC classic show 12 Nov 2019 (News)
  A special test for the RAC Rally of the Tests within the NEC halls saw the crowds flock to the barrier as over 60 cars ranging from Minis to Porsches tackled an agility test before heading back out onto the road. The event was won by Steve Entwistle and Mark Appleton in their Morris Mini Cooper S. Silverstone Auctions two-day sale saw some record breaking results with the ex-works 1955 ‘Le Mans’ Triumph TR2 sold for £258,750, while the 2,000-mile Jaguar XJ220 sold for £362,812, both including premium.

  To stand the best chance of raising money for BBC Children in need, cars with the best chance of selling have been specially selected. Most noteworthy of the cars estimated under £10,000 is a 1960 Morris Mini Minor that appeared with Twiggy in M&S TV commercials and become so famous that Corgi made a model of it. The Mini is estimated at between £7,000 - £9,000. Also worth mentioning, a multiple concours-winning, low mileage 1967 Austin Mini Countryman, estimated at  £12,000 - £15,000, and a1990 Jaguar XJS V12 expertly rebuilt by KWE Engineering of Top Gear fame, estimated at £8,000 - £11,000.

  MINIs from £4,900 at Auction Today 11 Jul 2007 (News)
  It had 84k miles not warranted and was in the MINI’s least fetching shade, but this 02 MINI One started at £4,000 and romped away to sell for £5,900. A smarter One, this an 72k mile 03/53 in all over white with glass sunroof and a/c sold for £6,100; a red One on the 02 with a/c, alloys and 51k miles made £6,050 and a 38k mile 02/52 Cooper S with the glass roof and 17” wheels sold for £8,800.

  2009 Goodwood Festivals Announced 21 Mar 2009 (News)
  Expect to see a record number of Silver Arrow racers gathered together at the Festival this summer. An original 1959 Mini was present at Goodwood House too to mark this iconic British car’s 50th anniversary, which Goodwood will be celebrating in style at both the Festival of Speed and Revival. A dozen mini skirt clad models posed with the Mini, and then in the best 1960s tradition, squeezed inside the car to see how many mini skirts you can cram into a Mini.

  Half Century 57 Hornets Reunion on 5th June 24 Apr 2016 (News)
  They hope to gather as many survivors as possible of the 57 cars at The Heritage Museum, Gaydon as part of the National Metro and Mini Day on Sunday 5th June 2016.  So if anyone has one, in any condition from concours to basket case, please bring it along.

  Ford has announced a Berlingo type kombi utility version of its new Connect mini-Transit to be called the Tourneo, and it goes on sale in the UK in August. Like the Berlingo, Kangoo, Partner, Doblo, Vaneo etc., it will have a hugely capacious rear with twin sliding side doors and a rear seat for three.

  Card and Chip Car Hire Launched in Munich 11 Jun 2011 (News)
  By the year 2020, the plan is for DriveNow to have one million members worldwide.  DriveNow will start off in Munich with approximately 300 BMW 1 Series and MINI vehicles. The resulting vehicle density within the Mittlerer Ring will ensure that customers will usually have no more than 500 metres to walk to the nearest available vehicle. The scheme is due to start up in Berlin with approximately 500 vehicles.
