Comfortable and roomy automatic, ok build quality.

Bought this car after my Mercedes C250 diesel developed a 'too expensive to diagnose' fault after I'd done 170,000 miles in it.

Have used this V70 through 2012 and 2013 for holiday, winter commuting and business use as a sort of office on wheels/removal van. An interesting car. . .

Plus's so far: Quite lively compared to my old car at low speeds, not so at higher speeds. Quiet to drive, comfortable, makes a good mobile office. This summer has been very hot and the air conditioning has coped v.well.

Minus's so far: Suffers a bit in icy weather; mirrors can freeze tucked in (they auto tuck in on locking). Door seals sometimes ice to the body making it pretty tough to get in occasionally. Door mirrors can't be heated independently of the rear screen to clear ice/raindrops. Additionally said heater takes too long to clear ice etc after turning it on . . rear screen however clears quickly.

Experience at 1st service. . . . . . 1st service appeared to go without a hitch, inside vacuumed, outside washed etc. Almost immediately after the service you are sent a 'how delighted are you with your service?' survey. Of course it takes a while to understand how you should respond to this survey. For example, it took a return trip to the garage, and phone calls to Volvo for the service department to understand that the (free) software update changed the configuration of the driving light switch - I thought there was something wrong with it following the service as its operating modes had changed. Additionally the bodywork inspection section in the service book hadn't been stamped - potentially invalidating the perforation warranty! Otherwise the service was ok and fitted within the quoted price. I've given the dealership 4 stars as they are v.accomodating once notified of issues.

I've been doing a lot of property renovation work this summer and the car has been great for that. Lots of lugging room, cool in hot weather. I get 40 mpg in real driving and that's ok with me.
