MG HS (2024 on)
Trophy Plug-In Hybrid
Quite disappointing
Overall this car looked like a good deal. It's not a bad looking car for a medium sized SUV and appears well made. The exterior and interior materials are high quality and I got the feeling of quality immediately. The car is also generously loaded with features that are an option on other brands.
Unfortunately that's as good as it gets. The drive is not unpleasant, but it's dreary and mundane. That isn't a deal breaker for me, but the ergonomics and use of the car are. Almost all features are accessed via the touchscreen and that's tricky when driving. Even fog lights are on the touchscreen. You want to change temperature? Go to the touchscreen. Literally everything is via the touchscreen. This would be fine if it was slick and snappy, but it's slow and laggy.
The safety features are intrusive and annoying and a severe distraction to driving. The infotainment screen has faults and requires new firmware. I regret my purchase as I bought it to save fuel, but in fact the petrol engine is not very economical and the plug in range never seems achievable.
