MG ZS (2017 - 2024)
1.5 VTi-TECH Exclusive 5dr
Looked ok but a reliability nightmare
I wanted to like this cat. It was affordable, looked good and a decent size. However, it felt sluggish to drive and became an absolute nightmare due to reliability issues. With a few weeks of purchase, the radio stopped working and I went through nine months of issues before the dealer eventually agreed to buy it back from me. Radio issues don’t sound that bad until you realise that when the radio is broken, it drains the battery and you end up with a car that won’t start. The downside of the MG warranty is that the dealer won’t attempt repairs until they’ve had agreement from MG, which can take weeks. With my car, they attempted to replace the cable several times, carried out multiple resets, and replaced the radio module twice but still couldn’t fix the issues. Eventually they admitted that this is a known problem with some MGmZS cars and they didn’t know what to try next
