perfect engineering excellence

Purchase this as an alternatve to a lease or company car with 82,000 miles on the clock, now has 155K on the clock. Has never let me down the only cost ( apart from consumables) being for a new glow plug and inlet port motor. the quality of the materials paintwork leather , switchgear, interior is a cut above everything else this side of a bentley. For a 14 year old car the interior is absolutely hard wearing and mint, the carpets perfect and generally it ages exceptionlly well ( ive had lease cars from so called premium brands that have got very shabby even after 3 years with cheap carpets wearing ect)
The gutsy 3L diesel is very torquey, very quick and will return 47per gallon all day long on the motorway. Its actually easy to maintain yourself also. An oil and filter plus air filter change took me an hour tops as everything is easy to get at.( the oil filter is at the top s a nicely engineered touch that)The guys at MB know their cars are going to last and fall into the hands of cheapskate owners like me

Downside ..rust. The bodywork is perfect apart from the Mercedes designed rust traps at the lower front of the rear arches which for a premium brand is totally unacceptable..still a bit of TLC from a body shop and some judicious underseal will solve that as its only cosmetic. This car is a keeper with at least another 150k on it and something seriously wrong would have to happen for me to part with it.

its also such a fine looking refined elegant car and stands up to the test of time well, doesn't shout performance but has a lot when needed.

If you want a point to point im in a hurry rep mobile then get an Audi BMW , if you are more refined don't mind a slightly sluggish gear change and want to cruise and have a relaxed drive then buy one of these

The boot is absolutely huge and even bigger as you can remove the rear seat squabs.
