Extremely practical runabout

We bought this car to replace a diesel Focus, as it had gone from being our first car to second and the new low annual mileage gave me DPF worries. Drove a Fiesta and that felt like a downgrade - much smaller inside, at 6'1" I felt cramped. The Jazz however felt almost as big.

Having owned it now for 3 months definitely made the right decision. Plenty of headroom in the front for me, and very easy to get my son in and out of a car seat in the back - tons of space for him too. The folding bench seats are a brilliant idea - as a keen cyclist getting a bike in the car was essential for me, and I can fold the seats up, take the front wheel off the bike and get it in the back very easily.

Main use is a mixed B-road / A-road 17 mile each-way commute, and I get 48-49 mpg - which is almost as good as the 51 I was getting from a 1.6 diesel Focus. Performance wise it couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding and you do have to remind yourself that you are not going to be able to overtake somone on a B-road - but that's not why I bought the car.

Stereo is surprisingly good for the entry-level model. The cabin has a reasonable amount of wind noise and I wouldn't want to do a long motorway journey in it - but as a simple runabout its great.
