1.8 i-VTEC EX Plus Navi 5dr Estate

Excellent all round car, with no major irritations.

I purchased the Honda Civic Tourer in May 2017. Since then I have done 4,000 miles in it, which includes 2,700 miles touring in mainland Europe. I have been driving 20,000 miles a year for over 40 years and have not had a better car than this. It averages around 41mpg, and when abroad was up to 45mpg, which included crossing Germany where I was cruising at 130kph (81mph) to 140kph (88mph), with an occasional burst up to 160kph (100mph). The driving seat is comfortable, which is unusual, as I do tend to suffer from lower back pain. To date I have had no mechanical or electrical concerns. Faults with the car. Setting up the radio and other electrical gizmos is hard work. Going through the handbook, and trying to work everything out is a days work. I have still not worked out properly the hands free phone, but this is not a major issue, as I am not keen on using a phone at all when on the move. The heater / aircon controls are many small buttons, which you have to look down at when resetting, to press the right button. My previous best cars were the P10 (mark 1) and P11 (mark 2) Nissan Primera, and this Honda is very similar to them. UPDATE February 2018: I have now completed 17,000 miles in this car. It is a really good car. One issue, that has become apparent this winter. The Continental tyres, fitted as OE, are useless in snow and icy conditions. I can only assume they are a summer specification tyre. On advice of a friend I have fitted a pair of Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres on the front. The improvement is incredible. On pack ice and snow the car will pull away on a slope with minimal wheel spin, and brake without the front wheels locking. For general driving there is no difference to the Continentals. It will be interesting to see how they wear compared with the Continentals.
