The best large 'do it all' car any money can buy in the uk market, fantastic!

I have just discovered this review site. Well done it is very informative.
I have recently said goodbye to my second consecutive Smax. That one covered 90k and my previous 06my covered 95k. The experience was great. Never have I spent so much time in a car than over the past couple of years. At 6'2" I always used to get tired legs driving long distances so would have to stop and stretch my legs often. With this car I have travelled 685miles in a working day and not suffered when in meetings.
The boot is a fantastic size in 5 seat mode. Child seats fit all 5 rear seats well.
Tyres - I use a set of 4 in 20,000miles. Ok mostly motorway but never carefully!! I do not recommend Kumho tyres as some have. They deform quickly with daily high speeds and only last 15-16k. Stick with the OE spec tyre. On my 1.8D I always used Goodyear.
In 185,000 miles the only trouble either car has had is the hill assent control allowing the car to stall easily. The 09 car was cured! Both of the little 1.8's suffer from over lean fueling (flat spot) at low revs but you can live with a slight flaw!!
The last car only required 2 sets of front brake pads in its life! Now thats good mileage especailly as the car is heavy and so is my right foot!!
The single worst part of the Smax is the large boot lip. My rear bumpers became rather scruffy lifting stock over it every day. But its still better than the Golf I'm stuck with whilst waiting for my new Smax.
Buy one preferrably the more economic 2litre. Drive it hard you'll both love it! I've had everything from a Smart to a Land Rover and the Smax is the best.
( No I do not have anything to do with Ford!)
