The first 1000 miles.

After the noisy discomfort of the Mazda CX-3 which it has replaced, the C4 feels like a luxury car, yet it costs no more than a Ford Focus.
Not being of the smartphone generation I opted for Sense Plus, which has the lowest amount of "tech" available with automatic transmission. Even so, I do not find the touchscreen intuitive to use, although I do like the reversing camera.
I miss having a CD player and would like to purchase one of the many external USB interface players available, but neither the dealer nor Citroen UK will commit to recommending one which is compatible with the C4.
The claims made for comfort, silence and smoothness are fully justified. These are the reasons why I chose the C4, and despite what some motoring journalists say, the car handles well and the steering is nicely weighted on the move.
Fuel economy is not my main priority, but I get low 40's mpg in urban driving and up to 50mpg on the motorway.
One small but irritating niggle. The ignition switch is located where it is impossible to see it at night, so I have to use a miniature torch to enable me to insert the key. Even the 1998 Rover 400 which I once owned had an illuminated switch.
