Looks good and on paper but will not get another.

The plus points of the A4 are its good looks with good space inside and its good fuel consumption figures.
My fishing tackle fits in the boot, no problem.
Interior quality is good.

After three years of lease, I wished I had taken more time to test.
I found the offset peddles and narrow seats cause pain in the small of my back and loss of circulation, on longer trips.
There is little side/lumbar support when cornering which adds to discomfort for passengers (my wife normally).
The hard suspension then adds aggravation, normally followed by demands to slow down from my wife. I found I can drive faster in our other MPV car.
When overtaking the steering has severe torque reaction over white lines or bumps. Worsened when the tyres were changed.

My family eventually refused to travel in it, we use our Toyota Verso.
The low level vibration in the back of the A4 causes my son to feel sick and the hard ride does not make for a relaxed journey.

At about 20k miles I gained knocks at full steering lock, which a local garage confirmed as failed LHS bush but the Audi dealer could not find initially.
The filer cap cover broke over last winter due to ice inside the mechanism.
No other problems to report.

I think the A4 is a good car but spoilt by trying to be too sporty over practicality.
Being front wheel drive, it already has advantages during times of snow. I live at the bottom of a hill. To buy another I would like better ride quality, comfy seats and lower C02 figures. A comfort option which is the opposite ethos to the sport option would help.
