Geneva Motor Show 2019: Mitsubishi ASX gets styling overhaul

Published 05 March 2019

Mitsubishi has given the ASX crossover a “robust & ingenious” overhaul in time for the Geneva Motor Show. The 2019 ASX is on sale now, with prices starting in the region of £20,000.

The exterior of the 2019 ASX gets more aggressive as part of Mitsubishi’s new “robust & ingenious” design philosophy, which adds a larger bonnet and huge horizontally mounted housings for the fog lights and indicators.

The front bumper has also been redesigned, with its chrome surrounds now bending into the grille. LED daytime running lights are standard across the range, along with LED rear combination lamps. The ASX also gets larger skid plates at the front and rear and three new colours are available - red diamond, sunshine orange and oak brown.

Under the bonnet the ASX gets a new 2.0-litre MIVEC petrol engine (the only option available) with either a five-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic with six-speed sports mode.  Mitsubishi hasn’t released any details on the engine's power output or fuel economy, but said two and four-wheel drive versions will be available.

Inside it is very much the same as before, but the infotainment system is now larger (increased from seven to eight inches) and the smartphone connectivity has been improved to make it easier to pair Apple and Android smartphones.
