2.0 HDI 110 - Peugeot 307 SW Antipollution fault - scammell

Hi there,

My 307 has 136K on the clock and has just got and anti pollution warning for the first time since I have owned the car. I got my local garage to read the fault codes and I got the following: P0487 exhaust gas recirculation fault and P0400 EGR valve.

Looking through the car's paperwork I see in 2008 it had the same problem. The additive pump, egr solenoid and fuel cap sensor was replaced at a Peugeot dealer and according to the receipt this cleared the fault.

Maybe the same needs doing?

The car drives normal, loads of power, and the RPM's are not limited.

hi its very possible that egr may be clogged again but since milage i would think additive tank will need topping up and resetting but u will need to take to a good garage to be done , i find putting in a good diesel additive in the fuel tank too clean system help with clogging of egr,

Hi, I'll give it a go. After some investigation yesterday I found the egr solenoid to be defective. I had current to the plug but the valve wasn't opening. I took the intercooler pipe off and could see recirculation happening as soon as I sucked on the pipe to the egr it stopped. So I bought a new egr solenoid valve yesterday and had the warning light reset. Hopefully it should work now.

What a load of rubbish it is not recommended by any car producer if you want to clean the system out put a half a pint of petrol in full tank now and again.

The EGR valve needs cleaning everyso often not a big job do that first do that first to see if it clears your fault.

hi, i am having the same problem with my 307 and have been recommended to replace the egr solenoid. the egr has been cleared already. can you tell me if replacing the egr did the trick? did the anti pollution light come on again. also, how much did it cost you?thanks
