Someone damaged our car and didn't leave their details - will her premium increase if we claim?

My wife’ car was hit by another car in a car park while she was at work. They didn’t leave a note though. If we claim on our comprehensive insurance, what are the repercussions? Is her premium and no claim bonus affected?

Yes, if you claim on your insurance there will be an excess to pay and her no claim bonus will be affected - unless they're protected - and her premiums will go up. Check to see if there is CCTV in operation at the car park, and see if you can track the car. Get a quote from a bodyshop, and if it is a few hundred more than your excess, it would not be in your interest to claim.
