My insurer charged me double - how many motorists renew without double checking?

I just received my car insurance renewal notice from Saga. They said I paid £417 last year and this year will be £293. Sounds good, except I actually paid £208 last year. When I queried this I was told it was a 'glitch' in their software that doubled last year's prices. After some negotiation I ended up paying £215. How many motorists renew without double checking?

Raise a complaint to the FOS and make them aware, www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints...m There is clear consumer detriment that could have occurred had you carried on. If it is a computer glitch, then it will not just be you that is affected. As you have said, not may people do check, so very well spotted.
