Best used 4x4 for towing a caravan?

I have £25,000 to spend. Could you recommend a used 4x4 vehicle to tow a caravan with laden weight of 1700kgs?

My choice would be a KIA Sorento 2.2 KX2 Nav manual that has a maximum tow of 2500kg. But 1700kg is within the limits of most SUVs a size down.

Unfortunately a KIA Sportage 1.6T-GDI petrol is limited to 1600kg, pushing you into a diesel, but the 2.0CRDI manual can pull 2200kg and the auto 1900kg. The same will apply to the differently styled but similar underneath Hyundai Tucson.

If you want something with more status you can get an Audi Q5 2.0TDI quattro with the seven-speed longitudinal s-tronic for that sort of money, but make absolutely sure that the transmission fluid changes have been carried out on time.
