Buying a reliable small car - advice?

I am looking to buy a small car that is reliable for £3000 to £4000. I currently have a Ford Fusion 1.4 petrol which I have had for 4 years and 40,000 miles and its been reliable.

Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris are best. Older, square shape Fiesta is okay with 1.25 or 1.4 engines. Fusions don't handle as well as Fiestas, but are much more practical because the seats fold down properly and they have a low load lip. Sell well to older people needing to load wheelchairs, etc.
