Buying a new car with light steering - recommendations?

I have been diagnosed with cubit tunnel syndrome and will need a car with very light steering because of reduced grip in my right hand).

Is rear or four-wheel drive car advisable to take load off the front wheels? I have between £25-30k to spend and would prefer hatchback/small estate; must have automatic transmission. What do you recommend?

Now that most cars have electric power steering, the weight can be adjusted by programming via the OBDII Port, so that opens up almost infinite possibilities. If you see something you like you just have to ask if the weight of the steering can be reduced. You could consider a Toyota RAV-4 2.0i Valvermatic Multidrive S.
