Which small car to replace my SEAT Leon?

Following your review in 2002 I bought a new SEAT Leon Cupra, which has given me enormous pleasure. At the age of 80 (and the car 11) the time has come to change. I need to transport myself only, plus golf clubs in mainly urban driving, occasionally on the motorway. You have always been keen on the Mazda 2.

The Mazda 2 1.3TS2 is a sweet, fun handling little car that can do 50mpg and is currently £30 tax. But the more expensive new Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 125 is more refined with better ride quality and probably now beats it. Obviously neither is anything like as quick as the Leon, but they still don't disappoint. If you want quick in a small car, think the new Ford Fiesta ST.
