Stopping in traffic with a DSG 'box- should I put it in park or neutral?

I have just bought a new Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI DSG, but I have a few niggling issues with the car. What’s your recommendation when stationary at traffic lights or queuing? I am reluctant to sit with my foot on the brake pedal as this could dazzle the driver behind. Should I put it into ‘park’ or ‘neutral’?

I must also say my other niggle is the handbook that comes with the vehicle. As is common these days, it is a generalised book that covers a range of models. In many instances this is very confusing as it is by no means clear whether the model you own has the feature listed or not. Surely in this day and age it is not too difficult to tailor the book to the exact car?

I usually sit on the brakes until the car behind me has stopped, then get off the brakes, put on the handbrake and put it in neutral. Do not put it into 'park' unless you are actually parking.

The drivers manual has to be generalised because car specs change all the time and there is no way that manuals can be printed in every language for every different spec. It would be impossible to match a manual exactly to a car these days.
