Can I tax my car without insurance?

I have a vehicle that I do not use, but want to tax and sell. What are the insurance requirements for a vehicle that you never drive, but want to tax? Can I insure it for one day, just to be able to tax it?

All vehicles have to be continuously insured unless a SORN has been made on them. I'd simply consign it to auction: www.sure-sell.info
