Will I get fined for not declaring my car as SORN?
My car is over 26 years old and the fuel pump went before Christmas. I have had trouble locating a part, so borrowed my Dad's car. I swapped the insurance from my car to his and left my car on the driveway. The MoT has now expired on my car and I have just found out I should have put my car on SORN when the insurance was cancelled. I read I can be fined for this, is there any other penalty ?

It is a requirement to have vehicle insurance at all times, even if the car is kept off the road, unless it has been declared as SORN. The penalty for this can be a £100 fine but this can increase up to £1,000 if you are taken to court.
