Out of warranty Land Rover sat-nav repair

My daughter has a Land Rover Freelander which is one month out of warranty. The car has suffered a satnav failure and after testing the dealer declared the whole unit kaput.

The dealer has quoted her £2000 to supply and fit a new unit. My daughter has asked Land Rover for some help with this as it is just out of warranty but she is not hopeful. Do you know of any independant auto-electronics company who could sort it out cheaper?

If Land Rover does not respond favourably, then I have found a few specialists and listed links in www.honestjohn.co.uk/useful-websites/specialists/ but I cannot guarantee the workmanship of any of them.
