I wasn't told of a recall when I bought a car from a main dealer - where do I stand?
I bought a Ford Kuga PHEV registered 01/03/2025 on 18/02/2026 from a Ford Main Dealer then got a safety recall letter in the post dated 17/03/2026 for a recall that I now believe was made on November 2025. The dealer didn’t mention this recall. Now I have to charge the car to 80% max and only use in auto EV mode which is costing me more in fuel payments and there is a risk of short circuit potentially causing fire. It says the fix should be out mid 2026 but I’m not convinced. What should I do?

The Ford Kuga PHEV has been the subject of two safety recalls, but the currently active recall R/2025/527 was issued on 4th November 2025. DVSA guidance states that it is an offence for a motor dealer to sell a car with an outstanding vehicle safety recall, so we would suggest contacting the dealer and requesting either a courtesy car until the vehicle is fixed or a rejection of the vehicle.
