What small family car for under £18k do you suggest?
I am looking for a small family hatchback or compact SUV under £18k. I currently drive a 2016 plate VW Golf but would like something newer (around 3 years old or less so it includes warranty). Ideally boot space to be similar (380 litres) and have similar performance as the 1.4 TSI 125bhp. I don't have a drive so not interested in fully electric or plug-in hybrid but I would be interested in a self charging hybrid as well as a petrol.

If you are happy with your Golf then the most obvious alternative would be a newer example, or its SUV equivalent, the T-Roc. Your budget would get you a 2022 or 2023 T-Roc with either the 1.0-litre or 1.5-litre TSI engine and low mileage, although there is no full hybrid version available. If you were looking specifically for a hybrid, we would suggest looking at alternatives like the Nissan Qashqai or Kia Niro.
