Can I get a refund for repairs for a fault that is similar to a recall?

I have a 2021 Jaguar XE R-Dynamic Black D MHEV Auto. In November 2025 a warning message appeared when I was driving, I can't remember the exact wording but it was something like 'Stop, electrical fault detected', however before I could safely pull over the car simply went into nuetral & the whole system then closed down including the engine & hazzard warning lights, absolutely nothing worked.
Today I read that JLR were going to recall a large quantity of their MHEV's due to a safety issue where a message 'Stop Safety Electrical Fault Detected' was liable to appear, this will shut down the engine & the battery would no longer have sufficient charge to keep any electrical systems working - this is exactly what happened to me.
This breakdown necessitated that I had to call out a breakdown service & have my car transported to a local garage. The local garage investigated the problem over several days but couldn't find a specific fault although they eventually replaced the battery which seemed to solve the problem, unfortunately this cost me £447.94.
Do you think that my car is one of those affected by the same problem associated with JLR's recall (Ref; Campaign No 26V248000).
I ask for two reasons:-
1) My vehicle is not on JLR's list of affected MHEV's.
2) It has already cost me £447.94, as such do I have a claim against JLR.

You can check whether your specific vehicle is covered by a recall on the government website here - www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ - it may not currently be part of this recall but it is also possible that the recall will be extended at some point to include your vehicle, so we would suggest continuing to check. The fault you have experienced does appear to be similar to that stated in the recall notice, so we would suggest contacting Jaguar UK directly explaining the issue you have experienced and request that they reimburse you for the cost of the replacement battery. It is possible that Jaguar may argue the replacement battery is a symptom of the fault and not the cause and therefore refuse any reimbursement, but if that is the case then we would press them to inspect and repair the actual cause.
