Yes, you can change insurers while a claim is ongoing. Your previous insurer will continue to process the claim until it is resolved and changing your cover to a different company shouldn’t impact this. You should, however, make your new insurer aware of the claim that is in progress - you should be asked to disclose this during the quote process. Not doing so could invalidate your policy.
