Warsaw fact

I have some work in Poland next summer. My wife and I are considering driving there so that we might spend a week or two touring after the work is finished. However, I read in the Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness Travel Guide to Poland that car theft is high and that the chances of getting your car back are nil. Are you able to comment on the scale of the problem?

No. I have no information. But a car stolen in Poland could be driven to virtually anywhere in Eastern Europe, so that’s why the chances of recovery are slim. There is anyway a market for RHD cars in Poland, whatever the source. A lot of cars supposed to be scrapped under the scrappage scheme have been going to Poland intact.
