Towball weights and Cycle Carriers 27 Oct 2006 (Forum)
My son is now looking for a new bike for Christmas and as we have been looking , I have been trying to find out the weights of any prospective bike (he wants all the suspension etc and I want him to get a light bike!) Anyway this prompted me to do a check. My Scenic max towball weight is 75kg. The bike carrier itself weighs 19kg which leaves me 56kg for 4 bikes. The Thule website states that the carrier can take max 60kg. I have weighed the 4 bikes we currently use (by standing on the scales with and without the bike - is this accurate?) -

Advice needed re: Dealer and 02 V40 19 Jul 2003 (Forum)
The Brake Fluid warning light came on last week. Opened up the bonnet and the fluid level was below MAX but above the MIN level. About at the MIN-Clutch level actually (about 1 inch about the MIN mark) anyway. I noticed the float thing that detects the level was stuck down so I jiggled it and got it to float up again. -

Renault 3 year servicing for £169 (or whatever) 22 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Sounds like a good deal until you realise that almost all models have a 2 year/18k mile service interval, and the max mileage allowed is 30k. So basically you are paying for one service (Unless you do less than 12k miles in the first two years then another 18k in the third year!) -
Modern Diesels OK Mileage? 3 Jul 2006 (Forum)
We all know that modern vehicles can well exceed the 100k car mark before any problems. But if you were buying a 4-5 year old vehicle then whats the max mileage you would accept? There are plenty of vehicles out there with 120-160k on the clock, which can be bought cheaply enough. But is an older car with lower mileage the best way to go? -
Oxygen Sensor Volvo 240 1993 Jetronic 17 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Volvo 240 1993 Jetronic LH 2.4. Although I have the correct min and max voltages coming from the O2 sensor and the heater is OK the levels change very slowly i.e. 2 or 3 second cycle time. Is this trying to tell be something or is this the result of some other fault/mixture problem. -
Changing speakers on my car 8 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Hi everyone, Am looking to change the door speakers on my Nissan Almera. My budget is low, max 30-40 pounds. What should I look for in the speakers? Any particular brands or wattage to look for? Will be just plugging the new ones straight into the existing cables. Should I buy component speakers or just normal ones? -
Spacesaver spares 8 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Nothing too unusual in that but we subsequently both joined a stretch of motorway and the Golf headed out into the outside lane and then blasted off at probably 90 to 95 mph, with the worlds skinniest looking rear tyre. I was expecting it to hurtle into the central reservation at any moment. What is the max speed these things are supposed to be good for ? -
Grinding Noise on Gear Change 24 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Hi On my Escort 1.8TD (125k),when I go from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd,there is a screeching/grinding noise ONLY when I reach max revs for changing gear (not when I actually depress clutch to change gear). When in 4th, it subsides until I reach 60mph when it starts again. This is mystifying.Any views please. Thanks -
Cracked windscreen 19 Oct 2001 (Forum)
It's £60 excess for replacement, FOC for repair, so my cynical view is they will push for replacement. So - what is the max size that can be repaired, can a crack be repaired? It's only 1/2" long (at the moment, bound to spread?). Thanks, Jack -
