Polite Sign in rear window 27 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Was driving home on Monday afternoon and was behind a W reg Ford Fiesta, it had a fairly large poster in it's back window that read: (or pretty much read) I have recently been 'done' for speeding for the 1st time 34MPH in a 30MPH zone, it's cost me points and a fine I'm driving slowly because of this... -
Build quality- japan versus the rest 16 Sep 2007 (Forum)
The build quality is excellent, The doors close with a satisfying "thunk" like its a real piece of metal. There`s not a patch of rust on it and everything works as it should. Its 12 years old and has done over 100k. Before this i had a 10 year old ford escort which appeared to be made of 2mm thick tinplate and was going on the arches and sills. -
Could we run Jaguar 22 Aug 2007 (Forum)
I have never owned a Jag but have always been a fan as I think they are well engineered (something I think is number 1 in a car), and have got the quality / customer bit right as well - according JD Power. It struck me that if they fixed the design on some cars (X type in particular - next S type looks good according to current spy shots) then these things should have no problem selling. So imagine we are now the new board at Jag and Ford have just sold it to HJ & asscoiates for £1 - what we would do next ??? -

The Mondewoe Is Going 8 Mar 2004 (Forum)
It\'s offical the Mondewoe is going. But what do I have instead? It has to be Japanese, I think?, its going to be second hand and cost less that £4K, so what do I go for? It must be large enough for the family holiday with 3 boys, the oldest being 13 (soon) and the youngest 9 (soon). -
Dividing dog guard 29 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Back in the 1970's when my parents bought their first estate car, you could get a "dogmaster divider" which split the load area lengthways - half for your pet, half for luggage. They didn't get one however- just a full-width dog guard. -
Mondeo 1.8TD G/Box oil change? 5 Aug 2003 (Forum)
There is a good level of oil but I am wondering if, as its probably been in there for 10 years/124,000 miles, it has less lubricating effect. Ford say you should never need to change it, so is it something more (mechanically) serious? What oil should be used if a change is recommended?,Do I have to use FMT?. It,s a 1993 model (with no extraneous noises from gearbox). -
Engine running away 24 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I have a 18 month old Ford Ka and the engine has started to accelerate unexpectedly. When I brake to walking pace and then change down to second, on releasing the clutch the car accelerates away. I have to keep my foot on the brake when in a 30 zone to avoid speeding. -

You, experiences, leading or trailing edge? Cars 14 Dec 2007 (Forum)
But more than that, beyond cars, attitude affecting life experiences. I can remember my father buying one of the very first calculators in the ? late 60`s or early 70`s? it cost around £70. Or about 2+ weeks wages, only to see them become almost free during the working life of that model. Then a rich mate who bought one of the very first clunky digital quartz watches for £300 in the early 70`s only for it to be an expensive museum piece a few months later. -
