Reliability of Ford Powershift ‘boxes 29 Nov 2022 (Forum)
Except the car immediately in front didn’t move. Turns out the Powershift gearbox on the Ford B-Max had overheated and was flashing up a warning that it needed to be left for five minutes to cool down! The poor driver (with a young child) was distraught, as she was completely blocking the road. -
07 Ford Focus Sport 1.8 - Engine Management Warning 13 Nov 2010 (Forum)
The car handbook makes no mention of this particular warning light and a Ford 'expert' spoken to on the phone is perplexed. It seems that a 'secondary' management system is installed but what it is supposed to be doing no one seems to know. I'm sure someone out there must have had the same problem! -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 04 1.8 Slightly Poor Fuel Consumption 18 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I know there was a topic posted not long ago about this, but I'm just looking for tips on how I could improve the economy. Its a Ford Focus 1.8 petrol. I Have had the car 18 months, and used to get around 31-32 MPG on a day-to-day use, going up to around 38 MPG on a longer journey. This is included winter weather last year. Now I am getting a max of 27 MPG. -

Kangoo van 2001 - Manual and towbar 19 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Been given the job of finding a decent towbar for a Kangoo van but all the ones on ebay are headed up by pics not relating to the listed item, and requested specific photos are not forthcoming. The owner needs to see a photo before committing to buying. Can anyone provide a link to a seller who has an illustration of what they`re actually selling.A good solid make(he will be towing trailer laden to legal max),easy to fit and inline or cheaper than the £63 ones on ebay? He`s also after a manual which will cover the 1.9 diesel engine fitted ,and claims he can`t find a manual to cover the Kangoo van. -
Mazda 6 - Mazda 6 / Ford Mondeo Diesel Engines 8 Apr 2010 (Forum)
I understand that the Mazda 6 and Ford Mondeo are built on the same platform? If this is correct I'm assuming the Mazda 2.0 MZR-CD RF diesel engine is the same PSA designed unit as the Ford 2.0 Duratorq TDCi diesel engine (As Ford seem to be a majority owner of Mazda) - is my assumption correct, are they totally different or are there subtle differences between the two? -
Buying advice - family car for three in rear 30 Oct 2023 (Forum)
Have looked at a Zafira but don't particularly like the interior layout and boot space does not really seem much better than the Astra Most 7 seater MPVs seem to be too small (Kia Carens, Toyota Verso, C-max, Mazda 5 etc). Conversely the large 7-seaters (Galaxy/Alahambra/Touran) are too big for my partner to park/navigate on the narrow lanes near us. This leaves me pretty much with the S-Max unless I am missing something. -
Ford Kuga 2.0TDCI Powershift Auto - Gearbox replacement 11 Jun 2021 (Forum)
I bought an ex demo 2014 Kuga auto from Ford dealer in April 2015. Since then it has been fully serviced by the same Ford main dealer. It has now covered just under 33,000 miles from new. I had to get the vehicle recovered last week and have been advised that all the gearbox mounting bolts are missing or sheared and the gearbox and transfer box have separated and been damaged and need to be replaced at a cost of over £5k I have approached both the dealer and Ford UK and neither are willing to pay anything towards the repair.
