  My wife can't cope with the automatic handbrake on her C Max Ghia and has difficulty using it for hill starts She wants to change the car even though she loves everything except the handbrake. Does anybody know if I can change the brake to manual by disconnecting the electrics, fitting a "normal" handbrake lever and changing the centre console -hopefully from the dismantlers.

  We really like the engines and reliability. The options for our rather niche requirements seem to be Toyota Verso or possibly a Ford S-Max. (I am not bothering to consider the Zafira.)  Otherwise it's only a Mitsubishi Grandis which is rather old, or indeed  an imported Honda, like an Odyssey (which drives very well.)  She wants something roomy but not enormous, ie. not a Previa/Estima or similar.
