A seven seater for towing a caravan

Currently we have a 1.6-litre petrol 54 plate Zafira which is ideal sized as we occaisionally fill 6 - 7 seats with adults in the back row or load up the boot to the gills for a weeked away.

We don't like the leaning in cornering and the towing limit is not good. With fuel prices only increasing, diesel economy is attractive, also considering the additional vehicle weight for improved towing.

We had an S-Max 2.0TDCi with sports suspension before, which would be ideal in most regards but the running cost is offputting, as are the large exterior dimensions.

Looking to tow a caravan around 1700kg MPTLM.

For that sort of caravan weight you need a big MPV. You cannot tow with something smaller than an S Max.
