    Showed in over 130 countries and featuring a cast of 40, it shows a boy and his grandfather sitting at home reading a Christmas book, as the pages spring to life in front of them. And it's not just children who find the trucks magical. In 2015, to mark the campaign's 20th anniversary, Coca-Cola ran a competition where one lucky HGV driver got the chance to drive one of the iconic trucks. Professional driver Matt Smith from Andover, Hants, was the lucky winner.

    Despite mounting pressure, the Government has so far refused to agree to a UK-wide scrappage scheme to help boost the car industry and incentive new vehicle sales.  In the Spring, the managing director of Ford of Britain, Andy Barratt, said he was unable to keep factories running in the UK without a much needed boost in demand .
  • Used car sales drop as people keep their cars for longer 14 Aug 2019 (News)
    The data, sourced from the DVLA, shows that small hatchbacks are most popular with used car buyers, with more than 665,000 being sold in the last quarter. The Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa top the charts of most popular second-hand buys. Black cars accounted for 429,534 transactions, followed by silver (384,479) and blue (351,627).
  • Recording-breaking BTCC Sierra Cosworth for sale 8 Feb 2018 (News)
    The 1990 Cosworth RS500 was driven by Robb Gravett, Mike Smith and Stig Blomqvist to victory in the same year. The fast Ford will go under the hammer at Race Retro at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire on 23 February. It could fetch as much as £175,000 to £220,000. This record-breaking Cosworth RS500 dominated the Group A 1990 BTCC season with lead driver Robb Gravett behind the wheel. For the long distance two-driver races Robb was supported by Stig Blomqvist at Donnington and the late and Mike Smith at Brands Hatch. Now it is being publicly offered for sale for the very first time after being in storage for 20 years.

    Other winners included a 1951 Volkswagen T1 pick-up truck, which took the ‘functional classic’ category, a 1983 Volkswagen Beetle in the ‘for the people’ class, a 1914 Ford Model T (‘the oldtimers’), and a 1930 Skoda 422 (‘pre-war classics’). Class winners also included a 1980 Mercedes-Benz 230TE (‘the youngtimers’), a 1959 Borgward Isabella Coupé Cabrio (‘Borgward classic’), the 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS Prototipo (‘La Dolce Vita’), a 1967 Porsche 911 Targa (‘sunshine express’), a 1982 Audi Quattro Rally A2 (competition car’), and the 1950 Skoda VOS (‘luxury classic’).  While the Alfa took the top award, the Red Flag Honqi was awarded a special Jury Prize, while the Porsche 911 Targa, along with a 1957 Hansa 2400 Pullman and a Bentley Mulsanne, won awards based on the jury’s personal favourites.

Designed by Gordon Murray, him of McLaren F1 fame, the 2018 Griffith has a front-engined layout, a full ground-effect aerodynamic package and 50:50 weight distribution.

    Find out with Real MPG The reduction in the cost of petrol means that the driver of an average family car - like the Ford Focus - with a 55-litre tank can now fill up for about £2.10 less than in April. This is Sainsbury's second price cut this month, with a 2p-per-litre reduction on 15 June. However, with the wholesale cost of oil falling - reaching its lowest price of 2017 last week - further reductions are expected.  RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams: “This is great news for motorists and we hope it will spark a fuel cut frenzy on forecourts across the country.

    The reduction in the cost of petrol means that the driver of an average family car - like the Ford Focus- with a 55-litre tank can now fill up for £1 less than in April. It's even better news for diesel, which can now fill up for an average of £1.40 less than earlier in the year. The South of England is home to the most expensive fuel in the UK - with unleaded at 117.25p-per-litre and diesel at 118.43p-per-litre.

  • Dewar Trophy presented to McLaren for the P1 20 Nov 2013 (News)
    The Dewar Trophy dates back to 1906 and was originally presented to participants in a road rally, but eventually the RAC started presenting it to British companies or individuals for outstanding technical achievements. Previous winners include the Ford in 2012 for the Ecoboost engine, Dunlop in 1957  for its work on disc brakes and Jaguar for its all-aluminium chassis in 2003. The Dewar Technical Committee, chaired by John Wood MBE, unanimously voted for McLaren to win the award this year.

    SMMT new car registration figures for September have been released and show a stable new car market, with sales down less than 1% on 2010 – which is in line with SMMT forecasts. The Ford Fiesta remained the most popular car in September, followed by its bigger sibling the Focus and the Vauxhall Corsa in third.
