  Can a battery conditioner be used on a Citroen Xsara 2.0HDi without disconnectiong the battery. If the battery is disconnected to bring it indoors to use with the battery conditioner, is there likely to be any problem with the codes for the key, radio etc.?

  (these battery trays are cheap from breakers) There is space between the  battery   and the wing to take a longer  battery , but not space to towards the engine as the auto-dipstick is next to it.

  If you end up with a dead (not flat?) battery as a result of not starting and using the car for 5 months, is it worth getting it jump started or just replace with a new battery?   I assume that if you jump started, you'd have to either leave it charging from the source / car booster battery?

  So when the (larger) battery arrived I ran a check on the battery and the meter tells me the battery and charging system working with no faults, Charged the battery and it  charged fine, but the fault code on the car stopped, So anyone has any thoughts on why the car was complaining?

  We bought a second hand disability scooter for mum with no batteries, bought some batteries but the batteries are not charging. When conected to the charger the lights come on and the empty light flashes on the panel, but the scooter does not move. Is it the scooter, batteries or charger.

  The battery voltage is 14.4V with the engine idling and 12.4 V with the engine off. The measured standby current drawn is 0.15 amps. Halfords won't give me a new battery as their battery tester says the battery is OK.

  Hi My car is eating up 0.3v from the battery and I believe it is the resistance from the internal  circuits etc. I have Varta E39 AGM battery in Mercedes B160. Few days ago I checked the voltage of the battery and it was 12.1v. I removed the battery to charge it and straight away the battery voltage increased to 12.4v.

  This morning I suspect the charger tripped out and did not put any charge into battery. Got voltmeter and measured 0V across the battery on no load. Disconnected Neg terminal from battery and still same reading. Tried to charge just the battery with Neg terminal disconnected and battery charger went straight to 12A ( Max for battery charger and tripped out).

  I am having problems with the battery on a 2017 (registered  Jan 2018) Fiesta. After parking up for 2 weeks the battery was completely flat. Even after long runs (300 miles) the battery is testing at 50% charge. The Stop-Start ceases to work as the battery is below 85%.

  Hello. Trying to fit a Halfords battery to my mk6 Astra. Because the new battery is a couple of millimetres taller than the standard battery, the battery retaining clamp will not locate on the retaining nut. Hence cannot clamp battery down to the tray.

  I have a heavy duty 12v tractor battery that has been allowed to run flat. When I put it on a mains battery charger the casing of the battery becomes very warm to hot even on a trickle charge. Is this normal or is the battery beyond recovery?

  My friend is looking for a replacement battery for his Renault Megane Scenic diesel 1900 turbo 1998. The battery on this vehicle is under the drivers seat and must be according to Renault a Gel filled battery for safety reasons. These are very expensive but only carry a 12 month warranty.

  Can anyone help me with this problem on my 2000 Mazda B2500 please. Got in it the other morning battery was too flat to turn the engine to start it. Charged the battery up and got it running but the battery light was on all the time. Put a meter on the battery with engine runnning and it stayed at about 11.9 volts even when I revved it up hard.

  I have a newish Focus 1.6 which is fitted with a Motorcraft Calcium battery. I was wondering if it is possible to charge this with a regular battery charger, as I've heard that this may damage Ca batteries, is this true ?

  i had a battery discharge due to a faulty alternator(it read 6 volts with a multi metre) its a 12 volt battery, ive had it on trickle charge(.6 amp) for 3 days and the traffic light indicator on the charger is still on yellow,the green ball in the battery condition indicator is still absent, is the battery knackered?

  Hello, I'm wiondering if anyone could recommend a good but reasonably-priced battery charger? I have an old charger which is fine for my old car with a lead acid battery, but I believe they aren't suitable for AGM and EFB batteries.  I need one that will do for both as my wife's car has the AGM battery and mine has an EFB and start/stop usage.

  I have been reading an article about the quote" problems technicians face" when changing a stop start car  battery (either the AGM or EFB type) eg the battery has to be paired or electronically matched to the vehicles battery management system. or there will be ..................trouble ! According to the article I read a large percentage of new/newer cars  have these batterys fitted,batterys rarely last more than 7/8 years.
