Is this a valid way of thinking about car finance? 8 Sep 2022 (Forum)
I am buying a new car and ordered it some months ago when the APR on the Personal Contract Plan (PCP) finance package was 4.9%. That was locked in and will be the rate I pay for the next 3 years if I go ahead with the finance option when the car arrives in a few weeks after the long delivery lead time. Obviously 4.9% is less than the rate of.inflation is at the moment and for the foreseeable future. -
Ford S Max - Finance or not 20 Jul 2020 (Forum)
The choice is to go to an independent dealer and part ex my current car and use a no interest credit card to purchase an older model (2010 being max age) with reasonably high mileage or go to a Ford Dealer and get a newer one on finance. I can’t work out if the interest id be paying on finance is worth the added security which will come from having a newer car, with less miles from a main dealership Compared to getting an older model which I own outright. -
Volkswagen Golf - Car Finance - Best Options? 10 Jan 2018 (Forum)
I'm likely to need a new car before a house (as I'm not sure on area etc. yet and may buy at the end of the year or next year). Ideally I would buy a house before, assess finances, and then buy a car. However, I'm likely not going to be in this position till the end of the year. Would you recommend total financing (which will affect mortgage loan) or put a chunk of current mortgage savings in to buying a car and try to get an interest free car loan if any good ones are about? -

KIA Rio - Lead to apply for finance on a car that was sold 28 Sep 2016 (Forum)
Today i called the dealer as i hadnt heared anything, only to be told that the car i applied for was sold on saturday, A DAY BEFORE i even applied for the finance. Finance PCP - Total Loss Cat N 16 Apr 2024 (Forum)
I chose to retain salvage of the vehicle as I believe it can be fixed pretty easily. Once it has been fixed and passed its MOT; do I legally have to inform my finance company or do I just continue my monthly payments as normal? I do understand that at the end of the contract agreement the car will be worth substantially less as it has been declared a cat N. -
Anyone buy on finance and return it after 3 years? 31 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Hi Looking at whether its worth me doing the type of deals where you buy a car on finance for 3 years, and then return it to them. Cars I am considering inc Suzuki Vitara - as they are doing 0% credit. I currently drive a old Pajero - done me well, but thinking now I fancy a nice bit of creature comforts and wondered if anyone does what I am thinking. -
Finance Insurance 14 Mar 2001 (Forum)
I have just realised that my car insurance policy does not include additional cover for any outstanding finance should it be written off.
