Nissan Pathfinder - Computer fault history - can it be recovered? 22 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I am having huge difficulties with Nissan regarding a fuel rail that I had replaced 16 months ago on my Pathfinder. About 6 months after having it fitted I experienced loss of power and took it back to my dealer. They told me that the fault code indicated a fuel rail problem again. -

Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - 2.0 petrol manual fuel economy 6 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Hi guys, Currently got a new shape Mondeo for a couple of days and am finding the fuel consumption is absolutely apalling. I don't drive like my trousers are on fire so to find that it returned just 32mpg from London to Devon just now (Empty roads and cruise control the whole way) is hugely suprising as I get more than that from my 530. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2.2 TDCi (05) - EGR valve? 12 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Writing 1000 times "I will not do it again"... Questions: 1) Does this sound like the sooted EGR valve issue? 2) Should I put some 'quality' fuel in now (1/3 full) or wait until it's virtually empty? 3) Will such fuel do the trick or does it need garage attention? 4) Are there any additatives that will help the cleaning process (if that is the problem)? -
Make your own bio-fuel 19 May 2006 (Forum)
In todays Daily Telegraph London Property Section was a short article that included how to turn cooking oil into bio-fuel for diesel engines. Sorry there is no link, so I have retyped it. Make your own bio-fuel All you need is a 45 gallon oil drum painted black and with a tap down the side, a large saucepan, a large sieve, some J-cloths and white spirit. -
Golf 1990. fuel mixture & idle speed 13 Sep 2005 (Forum)
My Golf that I bought a month ago is due for the MOT and when I changed the plugs it was apparent from looking in the Haynes manual that the fuel mixture is too rich. Also, even when it is warmed up and the choke put in the engine seems to be running a bit fast. I just phoned a local garage about getting the carburettor adjusted and the timing done and was told there isn't much hope for an old Golf. -
Running costs 26 Mar 2004 (Forum)
I had always thought that depreciation was the biggest cost of motoring but looking at the figures it is a reasonably close run thing with fuel. If the fuel economy had been 25mpg it would have equalled depreciation costs. This for a car that has depreciated a lot. Have I made a mistake or is fuel really the main cost in driving a car. Or is the fact the car has done high mileage in a short time having an unusual effect? -
