VW Golf GTD 2011 - Real MPG's 6 Mar 2016 (Forum)
The fuel computer still works and is 100% accurate! I find it strange as following 8 years of driving various HGV's as a job, every truck fuel computer is accurate to within the 0.1 of a mile. I have been paid on fuel bonus with 3 different companies and they always come back in response to fuel receipts with what is displayed on the truck dashboard. -

Ford Fiesta 1997 - 1.25 -Fuel cut? 2 Sep 2014 (Forum)
My thoughts were confirmed as the O2 voltage never gets to zero but is constantly oscilating between 0.2 and 0.7 volts meaning the closed loop fueling algorithm is working and hunting 14.7AFR.. So even if I am at closed throttle and 4000rpm or 3000rpm, there is no fuel cut - the engine is burning fuel and that explains the low MPG. I also checked the throttle on the OBD and it stays at 18% (it is relative, that's why it is at 18%) and at WOT is around 94% so it seems ok. -
Mercedes CLK 03 - Fuel contamination 19 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Our mechanic ran various checks ruling out a blown head gasket. When he checked the fuel he found that it was oily and concluded that the fuel was contaminated. The oil hadn't come from the car (oil was fine) and the last place we had filled up was in a France. The fuel was drained (we have retained the fuel) and new petrol put in. -

Introducing a whole new level of interest for advocates of diesel fuel additives... snigger..;);) http://tinyurl.com/6dnb94 A serious point though. (well..;) It was often said (can`t remember where) that its best to keep your car fuel tank as full as possible of derv in Winter to avoid water condensing out of the air and contaminating the fuel. -
HELP!! No fuel to engine-MK3 Golf Diesel 8 Oct 2006 (Forum)
The car did the same, twice. We got the AA to pick us up and take us home. Once home I changed the fuel filter (i had a spare) and it still wouldn't get started. I thought it could be a problem with the fuel sensor on the dash so went out and got 5 litre of diesel. Made no difference. I then took the fuel pip out from the fuel filter to see what was coming out when i started the engine....there was nothing. -
Fuel cleaner killed my Audi A4 Cab 26 Jul 2006 (Forum)
It continued to splutter and cough on acceleration and it now drives like a 50bhp car as apposed to it's original 160bhp (or there abouts). Arghhhhhhhh .... the fuel cleaner has killed my car !!!!
