Other Porsches in the sale include a 1993 Porsche 964 Turbo X88 (£250,000-300,000), a 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster (£250,000-300,000), and a 1967 Porsche 911 S (£240,000-280,000). -
A Grand Monday: Audi 100 17 Apr 2017 (News)
Its drag co-efficient of 0.30 was by far and away the best in its class, giving it excellent refinement, fuel economy and high-speed performance. The angular nose sliced through wind resistance, while the biggest innovation was the 100's use of flush-fitting glass, a feature adopted by practically every car manufacturer since. Classics rev up for Monte Carlo rally 25 Jan 2017 (News)
It will take place over eight days on open public roads with the cars and crews undertaking a series of 14 demanding test stages in the mountains of southern France. Included in the line-up will be an ex-BMC works Mini Cooper S which competed in the Monte Carlo Rally 50 years ago, finishing 6th overall in the hands of rally legend Paddy Hopkirk. It will be driven by Scottish rally enthusiasts Pat Haley and Mike Hyrons. Also taking part will be a rare and original 1978 Ford Escort RS 2000 which had previously been on display in a car showroom in Wales. -
A Grand Monday: Fiat Cinquecento 7 Nov 2016 (News)
The displacement was later adjusted to 899cc to suit tax regulations in some of the Cinquecento’s key markets, though the basic design of the powerplant remained unchanged. This 1996 Fiat Cinquecento S is one such example, being one of the last Cinquecentos built before it was replaced by the Seicento (600) in early 1997. The car has covered just 33,500 miles in 20 years, an average of only 1675 miles a year, and is being sold with a full 12-month's MoT. -

Ex-Grand Prix Healey makes global show debut at Race Retro 11 Feb 2016 (News)
Roper next took the wheel of the Healey at the CWF Hamilton Trophy Race at Mairehau on 20 February 1954 where he achieved third place. The 100/4's final New Zealand event was the Havelock race meeting where the Healey recorded a record speed of 100mph in the flying quarter-mile event. The only other car to do so was a Jaguar XK120. Chassis number 145426 was sold in October 1954 and, after passing through various owners, was placed into storage in 1971 where it remained for the next 24 years. -

Plus, I understand some of the cars featured on For the Love of Cars, such as Walter’s Mk1 Golf Rally car, will be on the club displays.’ Ant will soon appear on BBC1 with former Top Gear presenter James May and Countryfile’s Kate Humble in a two-part broadcast Building Cars Live, filmed live from a BMW factory in Oxford. -

Classic car rally hopes to raise £150,000 for charity 19 May 2015 (News)
At the lunch and throughout the rally, participants will mingle with legends from the road car and motorsport worlds. The event will be filmed by Channel 5’s The Classic Car Show, which is hosted by the supermodel and car fanatic, Jodie Kidd, and distinguished car expert, Quentin Willson. Other rare classics confirmed for the event include: a Ferrari 288 GTO, a Lamborghini Miura 400S, a Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing and a Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS. But you don’t have to own a piece of exotica to take part - the rally is open to other classic cars, MGs to Mini Coopers. -

London Classic Car Show honours Adrian Newey 13 Dec 2014 (News)
Among the cars that meant so much to him when he was growing up were his father’s Riley RMF – ‘a beautiful thing’ – and a Mini Cooper S, which was the car he learned to drive in. Newey has his own collection of cars and will be bringing along his Jaguar SS100 that he bought ‘as a bag of bits’ and restored. There’ll also be the Ford GT40 that you may have seen him racing at Goodwood Revival. -
London gears up for classic spectacular 29 Oct 2014 (News)

A Grand Monday: Triumph Toledo 24 Mar 2014 (News)
What made the Toledo particularly interesting was that it used the front-wheel-drive 1500 (nee 1300)’s body with a shorter nose and tail, and a less plush interior - designed to take over where the old Herald 13/60 left off. It was effective and typically nice to drive - and would end up donating its rear-wheel drive underpinnings to the 1500TC, Dolomite and Dolomite Sprint. -

Top-selling car lots were a 1966 Aston Martin DB6 at £133,660 (estimate £60,000-80,000), a 1953 Bentley R-Type Special Roadster which achieved £74,300 against a £50,000-60,000 estimate, and a 1952 Cisitalia ‘Nuvolari Spyder’ that also realised an above-estimate £68,700. Meanwhile the 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Convertible that was first owned by Sarah, Duchess of York, sold for £13,800, and a 1966 AEC Routemaster RML Double-decker Bus sold for £19,550. John Polson, Specialist in the Bonhams Motor Car Department, said: 'Once again, our Oxford sale was a great success. -

Ford axes UK vehicle production 25 Oct 2012 (News)
Combined the two closures will see 1400 jobs lost including logistics and support jobs. Ford is also closing its factory in Genk, Belgium, which builds the Mondeo, Galaxy and S-MAX. Production is expected to move to Valencia, Spain during 2014. The news comes just weeks after Ford announced a huge product offensive in Europe with 15 new models - including the new Transit - due to be introduced in the next five years.
