  • Buying from a Broker 8 Jan 2002 (Forum)
I see on the HJ Homepage that a broker is selling Citroen Picassos cheaper than a Citroen dealer. The broker is quoting £11,645 for a 2.0 HDi 90hp LX, while the dealer price is £13,765 (on the road). The Broker appears to act as a middleman putting the buyer in touch with the dealer.
  • Saxo suspension 28 Dec 2001 (Forum)
My two year old Saxo has a loud knock when changing gear on the move. It sounds like a worn drive shaft [has only done 9000miles. it is a 1.1]. My local Citroen dealer says this is normal. In amazement at this I contacted Citroen Customer Care in Slough. They say they are aware of a noise but it is nothing to worry about and I should expect such things on a mass produced car.
  • No temperature gauge! 7 Oct 2001 (Forum)
I have noticed this is also the case in other base spec french makes, Peugeot and Renault as well as Citroen.
  • Citroen C5 2.0HDI 110 2004 - Solid flywheel vs Dual Mass Flywheel 6 Oct 2016 (Forum)
My Citroen C5 had dual mass wheel failed make noise, gargae said. On my service history the previous owner had fit new DMF at 56,000miles then again at 92,000 miles. Now it is my turn at 140,000 miles so that is aprrox every 40,000 miles that's how long DMF is last must be the weight of car.
  • Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - Cracked tyre valves/pressure sensors 2 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Back in March, I had four new tyres fitted to my leased Citroen C5 by well known tyre fitter as required by the leasing company. In the last week of July I had the low tyre pressure warning for the N/S Front wheel. I pulled in within a mile or two to a service station for air, but on fitting the hose onto the valve, it broke off.
  • Citroen ZX (1992 - 1998) - 1993 1.9TD Avantage 5 drs - Speedo Not Working 9 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I opened it up again to look but the cable end was still connected to the speedo. Enquiringly, I rang my local Citroen dealer who said I probably needed a new speedo cable - I also read that there is an upper and a lower cable (the part that I have the problem with being the upper I presume). The Citroen man also said that this would be a nasty job !!!
  • Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - The end of my dipstick has fallen off....... 22 Dec 2007 (Forum)
The only good thing about the whole affair was the initial telephone conversation with the female Service receptionist. She was aware of some Citroen owners having "the end fall off", but, "I have not had the personal experience of it" Any comments? -- pmh (was peter)
  • new Citroen C5 poor fuel consumption 17 Jun 2005 (Forum)
I am beginning to regret buying my new Citroen C5! Apart from the still unresolved headlamp problem (detailed elsewhere on this forum), and the woefull lack of headlamp protectors being available, I am not at all impressed with the fuel consumption of the new car.
  • HDi Power Loss - Citroen Xsara 4 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Seems to happen in heavy rain but not sure if thats a coincidence. The car was bought at 40,000 miles 18 months old from a citroen main dealer. I reported the problem when having other work done under warranty, they cleared fault codes but did nothing about prob. Reported again- fault code this time said something about lack of turbo pressure?

  • Citroen Xantia HDI fault. 7 Sep 2001 (Forum)
There does not appear to be any pattern to the fault i.e.. it happens at different speeds and with or without the caravan on tow . Citroen Customer Service are not very helpful , their attitude being if the machine shows no fault then there isn't one , also Citroen technical don't seem to have any answers . This recurring problem is spoiling what I think is a very nice car ........
  • Citroen C3 - 1.2 puretech turbo engine misfire (2017,49k miles) 31 Oct 2021 (Forum)
The engine has cut out once whilst driving and the car went into limp mode but switching the engine off and on again fixed it. Had spark plugs changed + major service but it didn’t help. I took it to Citroen for diagnostics and they gave me a diagnostic code: P306100 - they said they weren’t sure what the problem is but they think it could be carbon build up. However, as a starting point in the diagnostic process they want to charge me £704 for an engine clean and said it will likely need parts.
  • Ford Focus vs Dacia Sandero - Advice Please ASAP 10 May 2018 (Forum)
Hi,  We are currently a two car family.  Citroen C1 and Ford Focus 1.6 Petrol Zetec 2009.  We use both cars but mileage is split at 15,000 in Citroen and 5,000 in Focus.  However Citroen is a little tired now so getting rid this weekend.
  • Citroen C1 - Water pump replacement as a precaution? 24 May 2016 (Forum)
Hi, I have acquired my mums old Citroen C1 to get to work following a change of job. It's going to be used around town to get to work (only 5 miles each way but the bus takes FOREVER!) and probably get a decent motorway/A road run at weekends.
  • Citroen Dispatch / Peugeot Expert 2004 2.0 HDI - Unknown lose hose off intercooler manifold pipe 27 Apr 2016 (Forum)
The disconnected hose attaches to the extrusion towards the top left of the pipe (intercooler side).  http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mi9RVfA0sRkYzA-8__mXmGw.jpg I've checked on Citroen Service box, and can find the main pipe, but nothing relating to the small hose in question. Any ideas where this is supposed to go? All of this is new to me. Cheers
  • Citroen C3 2006 - Engine warming lamp - Anti Pollusion Fault 31 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Hi, Bit of a saga here. This warning originally appeared last month, so I took it to the Citroen dealership garage, got charged £50 diagnosis and they 'fixed' it with an ECU software update. The fault code from diagnosis was 'P1197  Key off voltage low / Piezo-electric injector, power stage' .
  • Passion from a Citroen C5 9 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I'd like to remove the premium brands from this conversation -- as I would fully expect a marque with a high price tag to have something special about it (and indeed many of them are lovely things). So, we're talking about the likes of Fiat, Vauxhall, Ford, VW/Skoda/SEAT, Peugeot/Citroen and Renault, rather than Audi, Alfa, Jag etc. I own a Ford Focus, which is apparently one of the best cars to drive in its class. The problem is, I just don't see it. I've had Peugeots and Vauxhalls and Fiats in the past, and never really saw anything remarkable in them either.
