  A D reg 205 traded in during 1994 with 115K on the clock, only hit the scrappie last year. There must be far more people willing to fling time and/or money at these old cars to keep them going than I first thought. I thought Cars were considered disposable once repair costs became greater than Car's sale value.

  looking through some old photo's yesterday and found pictures of my old Triumph Dolomite 1850, red with black vinyl roof, also found pics of my old Avenger, metallic dark green with tan tinyl roof. Suddenly realised that I havn't seen a car with a nice piece of vinyl on the roof for years.

  When BMW realises the mistake they've made in buying a Rover and offloads it all, we'll rebrand as MG and take the old range down to Halfords, for garish paint, crummy spoilers and go-faster tack. 5. Marketing crisis. MG's are not selling. Who do they appeal to? Not older-aged Rover traditionalists as they're too garish, not boy racers, as they are old men's cars.

  Do people see these a luxo cars and therefore think they must be petrol? By the way the 525d at 2 years old is almost the same price as a one year old Accord Tourer 2.2d. Which will depreciate less??

  Few questions: 1) Has anyone driven one of these? I'd be very disappointed if it were as bland and sloppy as the old Nubira, but as someone who is used to an aging Primera (a good handler in its day), how is the car generally? 2) Are they as reliable as Daewoos of old? Are there any serious issues to be aware of?

  So commonplace as to disappear against the roadscape. The latest one to look old fashioned in my opinion anyway, is the Mondeo Mk3. Strange thing is though, it has happened since Christmas. Before that they looked OK. Now they suddenly look old. Shame really. Some cars stand the visual test of time better than others whereas others age very quickly when their production run stops.

  New neighbours want 3 cars as moved out of Londonium. 1. 20 yr old  licence 2 and a bit years. budget £3500-£4000 2. school run car for mum.room for 2 teens to schoo/collegel and sometimes 3rd teen. budget  up to 15K 3 Dad still works near Lakeside, about 600 miles a week plus family holidays for 2 adults and 3 teens, could be lease or pcp.

  I have a car with a personalised reg, and a new car with a regular assigned reg. I am selling my old car and wish to retain the reg to transfer to my new car. Do I need to do this (and have a new number assigned to the old car) before I can sell it?

  Can anyone see why all occupants who knowingly allowed themselves to be carried in an illegal car by a youngster not Old enough to have a licence.   Why the law does not use a joint enterprise approach and charge all equally?  Irrespective of who was actually driving?   It was an old programme and maybe they do now , but it seemed like a glaring loophole.

  How much would it cost to replace piping to the turbo as the car is 8 years old and has done 42k has had an oil change every 5k sometimes less than 5k is it worth doing?

• VW Touran - 4 year old car - manufacturers liability 20 May 2010 (Forum)
  My 2006 VW Touran, just over 4 years old has broken down and the garage have said it needs a new clutch and gear box as whatever has happened is a serious problem. They've quoted over £2,000 to fix it. My question is, given that the car is still young (bought new), can we expect any success in getting VW to pay for all or at least a substantial part of the repairs.
