  Also, as it is quite a narrow driveway then the chances are that my car will be running on exactly the same "track" all the time. Would this cause sinking in one choice more than another? Any thoughts on the tarmac v monobloc debate would be appreciated.

  I have a 1999 V-Reg Toyota Corolla 1.3 which I have owned for 3 years and has now done 92k. It has been perfectly reliable and I'm very happy with it, but in the last couple of months, it has lost power in the higher gears.

  But I have a clean engine and a need to choose between shell standard jungle juice and shell v-power, and if I can't get a power or MPG boost sufficient to offset the cost, the only thing that remains is the cleaning. One single BP rep or Shell rep stating that their standard fuels are not good enough at cleaning would be sufficient, but I've come up short finding them.

  "There is no independent data or research which shows that premium fuel is worth the extra money over standard fuel. Shell may promote the fact that their V Power is better for an engine but there is nothing to verify this. For the vast majority of cars on the road (performance cars and some classics excluded), standard 95RON fuel is more than adequate.

  We've been looking at old shape Astras and the low-spec CDTIs are going for about the same money as higher-spec DTIs. If there is no noticeable difference between the engines (MPG, Power, Noise etc) then choosing between the two would be much easier. Also, does anyone know if adjustable steering columns were standard on newer Astras?. Our V reg does not have one yet a friend's W reg does.

    Internet says can add some engine oil as well....? how much would you say.  So if i top up many times with Shell V power diesel at 3/4 full might I be OK?....how long should I do this for?......also should I add any other additives?  Thanks.

  No performace issues, just sounded like someone was tapping an empty tin and a small hiss (no, there wasn't a freak in the boot..haha) Anyway, the sound has now gone (after 50 miles of driving) do you think it was something in the fuel working it's way through. There was a slight whine aswell which makes me think it maybe the fuel pump..Tank 3/4 fuel of V-power from a good garage. Penny for yer thoughts Cheers

  It is my first "proper" bike and I've enjoyed it, but I would like a bit more weather protection, a taller seat, softer suspension and a change in engine noise. Power (although it sounds like heresy) is not really relevant; I hardly ever use all of the Bandit's 80 bhp as it is, except when overtaking 2-up. My current favourite is the Suzuki 650 V-strom which seems to answer all my criteria; has anyone any experience of these bikes or would anyone care to suggest an alternative?

  any suggestions on the cause of a non start punto, its a v reg mk 2 1200 8 valve with 10k on clock, checked for belt snapped,ok we have fuel and lots of it, we have spark, checked all engine management fuses. Iam informed before it packed in, it was running poor, no power spluttering etc, then it broke down.

  The engine start giving problem like when we driven uphill road on motorway, the car speed reduced from 70 to 50 on full power. I keep hold to full power, but no improvement. As soon as downhill road reach, the car picked-up the speed, but its not looking good and I realized that the car not doing well. Around 80 miles I have to take exit to reach my destination.
