  Does the Renault Trafic 1.9 dci registered December 2011 have a timing belt or chain? A mechanic has told me timing chain and it needs changing but as I’m clueless I don’t want to get ripped off. Also is this the same as a Sorry for being stupid but I bought the van second hand with partial service history so have no idea if these have been previously changed.

  Hello,  Now spring is coming i have taken my renault 19 out of hibernation, but after driving an automatic for the last wee while noticed the clutch biting point is high. I had a mechanic test the clutch to make it slip and it wont. Also the clutch was replaced not that long ago, car has only done 43,000, clutch at 34,000.

   tested all fused etc and found that the body control unit was at fault. got a second hand bcm and change it over. wipers now worked but immobilizer woulnt allow engine to start.  went to renault and paid 15 quid for immobilizer code.  was told on all forums that it it a 4 digit code but the one renault gave me is 8 digits. renault say that my model (y reg) came after a change to the immobilizer type. anyone who can help pls?

  hi have 95 laguna 2.2d. have lost renault fob type key so cannot de immoblise the car. have got a normal key so can get in the car ok. does anyone know how they stop the car starting and how to isolate this? i would buy a new key but renault want over £200!
