Either buy, or borrow a Haynes manual from your local library?

Nowhere local got them in stock and I wanted to fit a new one tomorrow cause it's cold

Just crack on take it to bits carefully you may have to remove all of the dashboard or just the front section were the heater section is.
Failing that just pop it round to your local garage they will do it for you.

I've been looking and I can see some bolts by the bulkhead can't see any section on the dash that would come off looks like one complete unit so I really hope I don't have to take the dash out now that would be a big job can anyone cofirm if that is the case please before I start

I think you will find that the heater motor and most of the control flap linkages and mechanism is in the engine bay.With the bonnet open,look straight ahead and there should be a rectangular box covered with sound insulation material held together with pop studs.Remove this to examine the wiring plug on the nearside of the box.I take it this is the old model with coventional dash.If this is later model with digital central display ,then report back.hth

Yeah it's the old model no digi dash I can see the sound insulation and now I've removed it I can see several bolts above the unit and a couple on the bulkhead
