Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 06 1.6 Major leak into passenger & rear footwell 12 May 2016 (Forum)
Hello folks, I really need someone's help. My car was bought in July at a well known car supermarket. It's 3 years old. Having resolved to try and work out why I had such a bad condensation problem in my car following the truly torrential rain a week ago, I found several litres of water in the passenger side footwells, most of which I've mopped up. -
Ford Focus - Wondering about new car 23 Apr 2016 (Forum)
I keep wondering if I should buy a new car, first new one since a terrible Renault 9 on no-deposit finance years ago, a car that put me off buying new or Renault ever since. I run a 61 reg 1.6 Focus, which is very good, though it hates speed humps, and is a lovely car to drive. -
Ford Fiesta Finesse 1.3 - Wiper stalk/ column doesn't work 22 May 2015 (Forum)
I thought the indicator/ wiper sets would be interchangeable, and before scrapping the old car I would change them over. So that's what I did today. I thought it had gone fine until I realised that none of the buttons on the wiper stalk worked, on either car... The indicators, lights, horn, hazard lights work on both cars, but nothing on the wiper stalks. -

Skoda Fabia 2 (2007 - ) - What would you do? 14 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Today the warning light is back on and the car is running rougher than an old diesel 405! The OH is really annoyed and feels she is being fobbed off, can we legitimately take it to another dealer or do you think it would be better complaining to Skoda UK? -

road tax a joke - not worth sharing 28 Mar 2006 (Forum)
The new road tax costs just make a joke of the law and labour goverment in this county how can you tax a car on its emissons when new (ie whats on the log book). So a three year old 100,000 worn out 4x4 or similar can be taxed for the same money as a new one ?,when the old one is clearly smoking it self to an early grave but just scrapes thru a MOT each year. -
Manufacturer's warranty 3 Jun 2004 (Forum)
My father in law has a car that is now coming up for 4 years old. The manufacturer's warranty was for three years. When the car was still well under warranty, he detected a faint noise from the back when driving. He worked for many years in the motor trade, and knows cars well enough to have an idea what it was; he was sure it was a wheel bearing. -
Car history check - not guaranteed 23 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Also, 3 new tyres seemed a bit odd - why not two, or four? Or is that reasonable in an 8-year old car? Incidentally, from this site I had printed out the list of standard things to check on a used car and having that to hand was very useful indeed, so thanks for the help HJ. Now about to check out a 6-year old 525 TD, asking price £3950, with same! -
Mercedes CLK - Cloudy headlamps 24 Jan 2023 (Forum)
The headlamps of my 22 year old car have become cloudy. I’ve buffed them with toothpaste which has improved them but only marginally. Any recommendations of how to best get them clear would be much appreciated. TIA. -
Petrolhead hell 21 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I'm in La Palma in the Canary Islands and was in Gran canaria last week. I don't think I've seen one car with a straight panel. They definitely aren't precious about their motors here, new or old. I assume the grubby parts receive a similar lack of TLC... -

New Focus or Golf or A3? 19 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Looking for a new car. Have yet to drive any of these but really liked the old focus. The new one is nice, but so is the golf. However, for the money of a golf I could get an A3. Any thoughts? Would be looking at 1.6 - 2.0 petrols. -
Brakes squealing - Mercedes 9 Mar 2004 (Forum)
