Honda Accord Tourer (2003 - 2008) - 2005 2.2 Fuel Problems 5 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My 2.2 Diesel Accord has been a right pain, having suffered from Engine management problems for the last year, especially when cold. Earlier this month I had the fuel filter replaced, and everything seemed OK again, however a couple of days ago, the same problem occured, engine management light on and no power to speak of. Took it back to the garage, same problem low fuel pressure, so they looked in the fuel tank, apparantly it was full of black sludge, by full I think they meant there was a considerable amount at the bottom, that was being drawn into the fuel filter. -

All makes - Contaminated Fuel 15 Nov 2019 (Forum)
Rip Off Britain drew attention to the growing problem of water contamination in fuel, both petrol and diesel. Two cases were highlighted , both took place at Supermarkets but they said it could have happened elsewhere. The problem seems to be have been made worse following the introduction of bio in the fuel which causes a by product of water when it mixes with fuel. -

Peugeot 1.4 HDi - Fuel problems 1 Sep 2012 (Forum)
I decided to park overnight facing uphill and the car is very difficult to start. Priming puts fuel into the pipe, but it then runs back out. There is a lot of air in the fuel. Is there a none return valve in the fuel feed? Also does anyone have a diagram for the fuel system pipes as I cannot follow them very easily. -

Jet Fuel 3 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I have read articles about the quality of various brands of fuel and the whys and wherefores of using the premium versions of some brands, (shell optimax, bp premium, etc) but I have not seen reference to JET fuel brand. I presume that this is better than supermarket fuel as it contains some additives, but can anyone tell me whether this is equal or better than shell, bp, texaco ? -

Peugeot 405 GDR diesil estate - Fuel problems 24 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Hi thereThis car has, until now, been the most reliable that I have ever owned, however it decided to die on me, I thought that pahaps I had run out of fuel, as it was showing low before this and the orange fuel light had come on, so went and bought some more and put it in, however she still will not go, tried priming the filter,( this is bolted to the battery housing, and has a primer on top) but the primer is drawing little or no fuel through, just to make sure that it is a definate fuel starvation problem, I filled the rubber inlet pipe from the filter to the engine manually, and she fired up right away, this morning, i took off the filter unit, and it had some fuel in it, but not full, I am now at the stage where I am left with the fuel pipe sticking up, but not going to anywhere, I flattened the battery whilst trying various things, so have now taken it off and put it on charge. As a chef I am not the best mechanic, however I can turn my hands to most things, I just wanted to ask, when I re connect the battery, and turn the engine should I see fuel being pumped up through the fuel pipe...?
